More about BAMS FEST

BAMS Fest, Inc is a 501 c3 grassroots nonprofit that strives to breakdown racial and social barriers to arts, music and culture for marginalized communities and artists of color across Greater Boston. We envision to create a diverse and inclusive commonplace for Greater Boston’ recording, performing and visual artists of color, to use their artistic talents in a manner that changes societal perception, and empowers and engages audiences of color to convene.

Our festival debut in June 2018 at the historic Franklin Park will be a one-day, outdoor, free festival for those that love R&B, Funk, Soul, Spoken Word, A Capella, Hip Hop, Soulful House, Graffiti and Dance. This festival is about re-connecting people and communities who have been segregated, gentrified and deprived of cultural programming within their neighborhoods. We seek to utilize this 527-acre green space (the largest park in Greater Boston) to bring together people of all kinds to love where they live, build relationships with one another and celebrate the contributions by local, national and independent musicians whose work and innovation added on to the influence of music.

We have a goal of raising $150,000 to help us pay for equipment, local and national artists, supplies, a dance floor, tenting, tables, chairs, food & beverage. Over the next five months, we will be actively reaching out family, friends, artists, strangers and folks like you, who believe in the healing power of music and the arts, and want to support marginalized communities in having the festival experience.
